Description
Overview
The NF275 is a new food grade IBC: a 1000 litre food-contact HDPE bottle that has never been filled, set in a steel cage on a pallet with a top lid and bottom tap. It stores, carries and dispenses drinking water, juices, syrups and edible oils with no history to explain to an auditor.
If you can live with a tank that has been used once, the as-new FG185 costs about half as much. For chemical stock that must go by road, see the UN-approved NC255.
Key features
- Brand-new food-grade HDPE bottle, 1000 L
- Clean history for food safety audits and export clients
- Steel cage frame with four-way forklift pallet
- Top lid for filling and cleaning
- Bottom outlet valve for gravity draw-off
Where it works
Juice and cordial makers in the Western Cape, honey and syrup packers in Limpopo, and water bottlers in Gauteng buy a new food grade IBC so their HACCP files stay simple. Lodges and schools in rural KZN also use them for emergency drinking water. Dairies in the Eastern Cape and the Natal Midlands store cleaning-in-place water and whey in them, and caterers keep cooking oil close to the fryers. Because the bottle is new, you can label it for one product and keep it on that product for its whole life. Every grade and size sits in our IBC tanks range.

Questions about this product
Why buy a new food-grade IBC rather than a used one?
A new bottle has never held any product, so there is no risk of flavour carry-over or residue, and you have a clean record for food safety audits. Used food-grade IBCs are fine for water and many farm uses, but processors and exporters usually insist on new containers for their product.
Can I store cooking oil or honey in it?
Yes, edible oils, honey, syrups and molasses are common uses. Thick products drain slowly through the bottom valve, so allow time or warm the room in winter. Keep the tank indoors or shaded, because heat and light shorten the shelf life of most food oils and syrups.
Will it keep drinking water fresh?
It will keep water clean if you fill it from a clean source, keep the lid closed and stop sunlight reaching the bottle. A white IBC left in the sun grows algae, so place it in shade or under cover. Drain and rinse it every few months for long-term storage.
How much does delivery to Stellenbosch cost?
The tank ships at 58 kg, so it falls in the 30 to 60 kg band at R950 to Stellenbosch or anywhere in South Africa. Our own trucks run from Polokwane and usually deliver in 1 to 3 days. Orders of R20,000 or more including VAT ship free.
