Description
Overview
The NCSX340 is a new anti static IBC tank of 1000 litres, built with a bottle that conducts static charge to the steel cage so it can be earthed during filling and draining. Ordinary HDPE insulates, which lets charge build on the liquid surface. This version is made for plants that handle static-sensitive or flammable products where a spark is not an option.
It is the top-of-range container in our IBC line. If your liquid is not static sensitive, the UN-approved NC255 or the new food-grade NF275 will save you money.
Key features
- Anti-static HDPE bottle, 1000 L, brand new
- Cage provides the earthing path when you clip on an earth lead
- Chemical-grade construction for solvents, alcohols and similar liquids
- Pallet base with four-way forklift entry
- Top lid and bottom outlet valve
Where it works
Paint and coatings makers in Gauteng, ethanol and spirits producers in the Western Cape, and fuel depots handling cleaning solvents choose an anti static IBC tank for their more volatile stock. Mine stores on the Mpumalanga coalfields use them for degreasers that build charge when pumped. Pair the tank with an earthed pump and a conductive hose so the whole transfer line stays safe, not just the container. Compare every grade in our IBC tanks range.

Questions about this product
Why do I need an anti-static IBC?
When liquids flow through a pump or hose they pick up static charge. In a standard plastic bottle that charge has nowhere to go and can spark across to a nozzle or a hand. An anti-static bottle carries it to the steel cage, and an earth lead takes it safely to ground.
Can I store petrol in this IBC?
Anti-static design reduces spark risk, but storing petrol in a plastic IBC is still restricted by fire and fuel regulations in most municipalities. Check with your local fire department and your insurer first. For petrol, a purpose-built steel tank is usually the right answer, and we can help you choose one.
How do I earth the tank?
Clamp a proper earth lead to the steel cage and connect it to a tested earth point before you open the lid or start the pump. Keep the lead on until filling or draining is finished. The earth lead and clamp are not included, so add one to your order if you do not have one.
What does delivery to Germiston cost?
This IBC ships at 56 kg, so it falls in the 30 to 60 kg band at R950 to Germiston or anywhere else in South Africa. Our own trucks run from Polokwane and usually arrive in 1 to 3 days. Orders of R20,000 or more including VAT ship free of charge.
