Overview

This MA analogue control box is the standard starter for a 0.25 kW, 220 V single-phase 3 inch borehole motor. It houses the run capacitor, an on/off switch and thermal overload protection, and nothing more. That keeps the price low and the wiring simple. The capacitor is sized for the motor, so the box must match your motor’s kW rating. Kamano supplies it from Polokwane to all nine provinces.

Where it works

This is the box for a small single-phase borehole pump that pushes water to a tank. Think of a small farm borehole in Limpopo or a rural homestead in the Eastern Cape. Be aware that the MA box does not switch the pump off if the borehole runs dry. For low-yield boreholes, a 20Y intelligent controller with dry-run protection is the better pick; for three-phase pumps, a Y1 or 30Y controller is used.
