Description
Overview
Fuel gauging paste is a colour-change compound that shows the exact fuel level on a dipstick or dip tape. You smear a thin film on the stick, lower it into the tank and pull it out: the paste changes colour at the line where it touched fuel, so there is no squinting at a wet steel tape in poor light. This pack holds ten 50 g units, enough to keep a depot, workshop or forecourt supplied through a long run of tank readings. The paste reacts to petrol, diesel and biodiesel, so one pack covers a mixed fuel store. It is a small consumable, but it makes daily stock readings faster and more repeatable.
Key features
- Ten 50 g units in one pack, so you are not reordering every month
- Colour change at the fuel line, clear to read on a dipstick or tape
- Works with petrol, diesel and biodiesel
- Compact pack that fits a site office drawer or workshop shelf
- Low-cost consumable that keeps daily stock checks consistent from one operator to the next
Where it works
Anyone who dips tanks by hand will use it. On Limpopo and Free State farms it goes on diesel bulk tanks through planting and harvest, when levels drop fast. Mine workshops in Mpumalanga and Gauteng use it on surface storage, and transport depots use it for end-of-day reconciliation. Forecourt operators use it with a 10 m dip tape or a 15 m dip tape when checking underground tanks. Browse our full range of fuel station accessories for the rest of your tank-checking kit.

Questions about this product
How does fuel gauging paste work on a dipstick?
You spread a thin film of paste on the dipstick or tape and lower it into the tank. When you pull it out, the paste has changed colour exactly where it touched fuel. That line is your fuel level, and it is much easier to read than a wet bare tape, even in poor light at the back of a depot.
Will it work in diesel as well as petrol?
Yes. The paste is made for petrol, diesel and biodiesel, so one pack serves a farm or depot that stores more than one fuel. Use a clean dipstick for each tank so you do not carry fuel between tanks, and wipe the stick dry before applying fresh paste for the next reading.
How much is delivery to a farm outside Polokwane?
This pack ships at 2 kg, so it sits in our lightest band: R550 for orders up to 30 kg in total. Delivery is free once your order reaches R20,000 VAT incl. We deliver with our own trucks from Polokwane to all nine provinces in 1 to 3 days, so farms and mines are covered.
