Overview

The FS03 float level switch turns a pump on or off according to water level in a tank, sump or dam. It is rated 220 VAC at 50 Hz with a maximum current of 16 A, has IP68 protection so it can sit in water, and comes with a 5 m cable. It is a simple way to stop a tank from overflowing or to keep a pump from running dry. Kamano delivers it from Polokwane to all nine provinces.

Where it works

A float switch like this is used to fill a header tank from a borehole, to empty a sump or to cut a pump when the level drops too low. On a Limpopo farm it can control a transfer pump between a borehole and a storage tank. In a Durban or Gauteng workshop it can empty a collection pit. Fit it at the height where you want the pump to switch, and check that the pump’s running current is within 16 A. It works well alongside a PS18L automatic flow control on a booster set, or you can see the full pump controls range. For plumbing joins, add a braided steel hose.
