Description

Overview

The AP-401 is a 45 W submersible pump that moves up to 1 800 litres per hour to a maximum head of 2.5 m. It suits medium garden ponds, larger fountains and water features that need a stronger jet or a little extra lift. It is the middle-to-upper model in our pool and pond pumps fountain range.

Place it in the water, connect the outlet to your fountain head or pipe and plug it in.

Where it works

Use it in garden ponds in KZN and Western Cape homes, in cascading rock features and in larger aquariums or koi display tanks. Pick a pump comfortably above the lift you need, because flow falls away near the maximum head.

Smaller options are the AP-221 at 21 W and, for the biggest features, the APS-451 at 60 W.

Questions about this product

How high will the AP-401 push water?

Its maximum head is 2.5 m, but flow drops to nothing at that height. Choose a pump rated comfortably above the height of your spout or waterfall so you still get a good flow.

Can I use it in an aquarium or fish pond?

It is sold for fountains, water features, small ponds and aquariums. Put it in the water, attach the outlet and plug in. Keep the intake clear of debris and check the cable is not damaged.

Do you deliver a small pump to Mbombela or Cape Town?

Yes. Our trucks deliver to all nine provinces in 1 to 3 days. At about 1 kg it is in the up to 30 kg band at R550, which is better shared with other items, and orders from R20,000 are delivered free.

Which size should I choose?

Match head first, then flow. For a bubbling bowl a small model is enough, while bigger features need more head. See the AP-221 and the APS-451 for the other sizes.
