Description

Overview

The aluminium camlock Type D has a female camlock coupler on one end and a female BSP thread of the same size on the other. The thread screws onto a male-threaded pipe, valve or nipple, and the coupler accepts any male camlock adaptor of the same size.

The aluminium body is light to carry yet hard-wearing for repeated connecting and disconnecting on pump and delivery lines. Ask us about seal material before using it with chemicals. Browse the full pipe fittings range for the other camlock types.

Questions about this product

When do I need a Type D rather than a Type B?

Choose the Type D when the part you are fitting to has a male thread, and the Type B when it has a female thread. Both give you a female camlock coupler on the free end, so the only difference is the thread gender at the other end.

Do I need thread sealant on the BSP thread?

BSP threads are normally sealed with PTFE tape or a suitable thread sealant on the male thread before you screw the fitting on. Do not over-tighten aluminium threads, or you risk damaging them. Ask us if you are unsure which sealant suits your fluid.

Which sizes and prices are available?

The Type D comes in 50, 65 and 75 mm. Prices run from R 141 for the 50 mm size to R 245 for the 75 mm size, VAT incl., so pick your size from the options on this page. Each size has its own product code, which makes re-ordering easy.

Do you deliver to Durban?

Yes. We deliver with our own trucks from Polokwane to Durban and the rest of South Africa in 1 to 3 days. A single fitting weighs well under 1 kg, so it falls in the up to 30 kg band at R550, and orders of R20,000 or more ship free. Add other fittings to the same order to share the delivery fee.
