Overview

This air eliminator for bulk meter installations is the venting assembly that sits ahead of an M40, M50, M80 or M100 flowmeter. It collects air and vapour that enter the line, mostly when a tank compartment runs low, and releases it through a vent so the meter only counts liquid. It is rated to 10.5 bar working pressure.

A bulk meter cannot tell air from diesel. Without a working air eliminator, every slug of air that passes is counted as fuel, and on a busy tanker that adds up to real money every month. When a meter starts reading high, this unit is one of the first parts we check, along with the outlet check valve. Part code S/A-A1.

Why does my tanker meter read more than I delivered?

Air is the usual reason. As a compartment empties, the pump draws air and vapour along with the fuel, and the meter counts it. A working air eliminator vents that air before the meter. If yours is blocked, stuck or missing, replace it and check the outlet check valve at the same time.

Does it fit all M-series meters?

It is listed as a universal fit for M40, M50, M80 and M100 bulk flowmeters. Different makers do vary slightly, so send us your meter model or a photo of the strainer housing before you order. We will confirm the fit so you are not left with a tanker standing in the yard.
