Description

Overview

This 2 inch check valve is a cast-aluminium non-return valve that bolts to the outlet of an M40 or M50 bulk flowmeter. It lets fuel move forward through the meter and closes when the pump stops, so product cannot run back down the line. It is a line valve, not a meter, and has no register of its own.

Why it matters: when fuel drains back after each delivery, air takes its place. The next delivery then pushes that air through the meter, which counts it as fuel. A working check valve keeps the line primed and your bulk meter honest. A sticking or worn valve is one of the first things we check when a customer reports a meter that reads high. Part code CH003.

Questions about this product

Will this check valve fit my bulk flowmeter?

It is made for the outlet of M40 and M50 bulk flowmeters, which use a 2" connection. Send us the model and photos of your meter outlet before you order, and we will confirm the fit. For M80 and M100 meters you need the 3" check valve instead, which we also stock.

Why is my bulk meter over-reading?

A common cause is air in the line. If fuel drains back between deliveries, air fills the pipe and the meter counts it on the next fill. A worn or missing check valve is often the culprit, along with a faulty air eliminator. Replacing the valve usually brings readings back in line.

Can it be used on petrol lines?

The valve body is rated to 10.5 bar and is used on bulk fuel and oil lines. Whether it is suitable for petrol depends on your complete installation and its safety requirements. Tell us the product and setup and we will confirm before you order. For diesel and lubricants it is a standard fitment.
