Overview

The 500 L nesting bin is a wide, shallow open-top bin with a lid, 1150 mm across and 730 mm high (880 mm with the lid on). That low profile makes it easy to load from the side or tip product into, and it weighs only 14 kg.

Like the 1000 L nesting bin, it slots into other bins of the same type when empty, cutting storage space and transport cost. It is moulded from virgin LLDPE that the manufacturer describes as food grade, UV-resistant and BPA-free, for liquid or dry bulk. See the rest of the bins and troughs range for other sizes.

Where it works

The low height suits feed rooms, dairies and packing sheds where workers scoop from a bin or sort produce by hand. Poultry and pig farmers in Gauteng and the Western Cape use them for feed and bedding materials.

Warehouses and distribution centres keep spare bins nested until a peak season, and feed merchants use them for loose lines on the shop floor. Set the bin on a level, stable surface; it is for above-ground, stationary use.

Delivery and warranty

Kamano delivers with its own trucks from Polokwane to all nine provinces in 1 to 3 days, with regular runs to Johannesburg, Cape Town, Pretoria, Bloemfontein, Gqeberha and George. At roughly 16 kg shipped, it falls in the up to 30 kg order-weight band, which is charged at R550. Orders of R20,000 or more (VAT incl.) are delivered free.
