Overview

The 500 L horizontal water transport tank is a mid-size polyethylene tank that fits on a bakkie or small trailer and carries half a tonne of water. It has a child safety lid, and Kamano delivers it anywhere in South Africa.

The tank is rotationally moulded from virgin LLDPE, UV resistant and BPA free, with a black inner liner that stops algae. It measures 1120 mm long, 820 mm wide and 890 mm high and weighs 25 kg empty. One person can load it into a bakkie. It has a 40 mm red base outlet and a 180 mm lid, and it is rated for both transport and stationary use.

Where it works

Farmers in Limpopo and the Eastern Cape use 500 L tanks to take water to stock and spray rigs on a bakkie. Landscapers and builders in Gauteng and KZN carry irrigation and mixing water to sites without a tap. The child safety lid helps on smallholdings with children around. Strap the tank down once it is full, because 500 L adds about half a tonne to the load. Use it above ground only.
