Description
Overview
The 300W 3HRI is a 48 V DC solar borehole pump kit in 201 stainless steel, lifting water up to 100 m at up to 1.75 m³/h, with its matching DC controller in the kit.
It goes into any borehole, well, river, dam or tank with an internal diameter of 80 mm (3 inches) or more, and suits non-corrosive water with sand below 1 percent by volume, particles under 0.5 mm, up to 40 °C and pH 6.5 to 8.5. The controller soft-starts the motor and guards against under-voltage, over-voltage, over-pumping, overloading and dry running, restarting on its own when water returns. The 201 stainless steel range is the economical choice for clean, neutral borehole water; if your water is acidic, saline or hard, step up to the 304 stainless steel 3HR range.
Key features
- Pump body and casing in 201 stainless steel, with stainless steel shaft and coupling
- 100% copper windings, graphite bearings and a wear-resistant rubber stator
- Brushless DC motor with its matching DC controller in the kit
- Soft start with automatic recovery after a dry-run stop
- Compact, low-noise, maintenance-free construction
- Duty points: 8.3 L/min at 85 m, 16.6 L/min at 65 m, 25 L/min at 27 m
- Solar array of about 600 W (two 400 W panels) recommended
Where it works
Solar pumping suits irrigation plots in the Eastern Cape, small irrigation plots, village standpipes and any site where the grid is far or load-shedding keeps stopping the pump. Size the pump on your water level, the depth to the water rather than the borehole depth, and choose at least 25 to 30 percent more head to cover friction losses and a falling water table. Our guide for this model is water levels up to about 75 m.

What’s in the box

Questions about this product
How many solar panels do I need for the 3HRI 300W?
The 300 W kit needs a solar array of about 600 W, for example two standard 400 W panels wired together. The array is larger than the pump rating on purpose, to cover cloudy days, cable and controller losses and imperfect sun angles. Panel brand and wattage can differ as long as the total adds up, and we will confirm the setup for your site.
Will it fit and lift from my borehole?
It goes into any borehole, well, river, dam or tank with an internal diameter of 80 mm (3 inches) or more. Size the pump on your water level, meaning the depth to the water, and allow 25 to 30 percent extra head for friction losses and a falling water table. Our guide for this model is water levels up to about 75 m. Ask us if you are unsure.
Is the 3HRI 300W suitable for my water?
It handles non-corrosive water with sand below 1 percent by volume, particles under 0.5 mm, up to 40 °C and pH 6.5 to 8.5. The 201 stainless steel body suits clean, neutral borehole water. Water outside these limits will wear the pump quickly, so tell us about your water before you order.
Do you deliver to Polokwane?
Yes. Kamano delivers with its own trucks from Polokwane to all nine provinces, usually in 1 to 3 days, including Polokwane. This item ships at about 8 kg, so delivery falls in the up to 30 kg (R550) band. Orders of R20,000 or more (VAT incl.) ship free. Tell us your site address and we confirm the delivery fee and timing before you pay.
