Overview

The 20Y is an intelligent pump controller for single-phase borehole motors, and this one is matched to a 0.37 kW motor on 220 V. It watches the motor all the time and cuts the power before damage is done. If you only have a small submersible pump at a low-yield borehole, this is the protection that stops a dry well from burning out the motor.

Choosing the right controller saves money, so here is the short version. A basic analogue control box starts a single-phase pump but does not stop it when the borehole runs dry. The 20Y adds dry-run, voltage and overload protection with a display, which is why we recommend it for most 220 V boreholes. Larger three-phase pumps need a different unit, such as the 30Y controller for 5.5 to 15 kW pumps.

Will this controller stop my pump if the borehole runs dry?

Yes. Dry-run protection switches the pump off when no water is detected, and the controller can restart it automatically afterwards. That makes it a good fit for low-yield boreholes that can run dry during the season.

Can I use it with a 0.75 kW pump?

No, this one is matched to a 0.37 kW motor. Always match the controller to the pump motor power and supply voltage. We list separate 20Y controllers for 0.55, 0.75, 1.1, 1.5 and 2.2 kW motors on 220 V.

Do you deliver to Tzaneen?
