2-Bag Pool Sand Filter, 480 mm Tank, 6-Way Valve, Pools to 30,000 L

Description

Overview

This 2-bag pool sand filter cleans residential pools of up to 30,000 litres. Water passes through 80 kg of filter sand inside a 480 mm tank, which traps dirt, leaves, insects and fine particles down to about 20 microns before clean water goes back to the pool. The 6-way multiport valve is included. Sand is not included, so buy two 40 kg bags of silica filter sand.

Where it works

It is the filter for the small to medium family pool in a Gauteng suburb or a Limpopo farmhouse, and the matching filter for small combo systems. Best results come with a 0.45 kW to 0.60 kW pump such as the 0.55 kW Swimflo 2. A pump that is too powerful pushes water through the sand too fast and reduces filtration.

Backwash when the gauge reads 80 to 100 kPa above the clean starting pressure, or at least weekly in the swimming season. Replace the sand when clarity drops despite regular maintenance.

What’s in the box
