Pool Sand Silica Filter Sand, 40 kg Bag

Description

Overview

This is 40 kg of graded silica filter sand for swimming pool sand filters. As water passes through, the sand traps dirt, leaves, insects and fine particles, so the pool stays clear. Use it to fill a new filter or to replace tired media in an old one, such as the 2-bag sand filter.

• Easy to use when replacing sand

Where it works

Buy it when you commission a new sand filter, or when the pool stays cloudy after balancing the chemicals. Pool servicing companies in Gauteng and the Western Cape use it for routine media changes.

Quantities by filter: 1-bag filter takes 1 bag, 2-bag filter takes 2 bags (80 kg), 3-bag filter takes 3 bags (120 kg), 4-bag filter takes 4 bags (160 kg). Replace the sand every 18 to 24 months, because old sand turns smooth and traps less. Signs include cloudy water, shorter cycles, pressure that climbs quickly after backwashing and poor clarity.

A 2-bag filter needs 2 bags (80 kg), so add two of these.
