Description

Overview

This is the 1200 L silo supplied with a steel stand, so liquids or dry bulk goods such as animal feed sit raised above the ground and drain from the base outlet under gravity. It is the compact option for yards and feed rooms, and Kamano delivers it anywhere in South Africa.

The silo is rotationally moulded from virgin LLDPE, UV resistant and BPA free, with a black inner liner that keeps algae out of liquids. It is 1120 mm across, 1900 mm high and weighs 30 kg. The stand is high quality steel painted with primer to prevent rust and arrives as a complete frame ready to install. Bolt it to the ground before you fill the silo.

Where it works

Poultry and pig farmers in Limpopo and the Eastern Cape use the raised outlet to fill feeders without lifting. Dairy farms in KZN and the Western Cape use it for molasses and liquid supplements, and workshops hold bulk liquids over a drip tray. Put the stand on level concrete, bolt it down, and secure the silo once full. It is for above-ground, stationary use only.

The stand is 1500 mm high and puts the base of the silo 520 mm off the ground. The silo itself is 1900 mm tall, so the full assembly stands about 2420 mm. Check your roof or shed height before ordering.

Is there a galvanised stand?

Yes, on request. The standard stand is steel with a rust-prevention primer, and we recommend the galvanised version in coastal areas such as East London or Gqeberha. Ask us when you order.
