10 Inch Pleated Filter Cartridge, 20 Micron, Washable, Big Blue

Description

Overview

This 10 inch pleated cartridge is a 20 micron polyester sediment filter for standard Big Blue housings. It removes sand, rust, mud and suspended particles, and you can wash and reuse it up to three times.

The pleated design gives up to 50% more filtering surface than a standard cartridge, so it holds more dirt while keeping flow strong and pressure loss low. Cleaner water protects plumbing, appliances, pumps and any filters or UV unit downstream. Replace it about every six months, or sooner if your water carries a lot of sediment.

Where it works

Fit it as the first stage on borehole, municipal or rainwater supply. Farmers in Limpopo and the Free State use it ahead of pumps, and homes use it ahead of carbon and UV stages. Sediment-laden water from a new borehole may clog it quickly, so inspect and rinse it often. Residential and light commercial systems are its natural home. Turn off the water and release the pressure before opening the housing. Wash a used cartridge gently with clean water, refit it and check the O-ring seal. Keep a spare on the shelf, because a blocked cartridge starves the taps and pumps behind it.
