Overview

This spring loaded brass check valve is a one-way valve that lets water through in the flow direction and shuts automatically when flow reverses. It protects pumps from backflow, helps hold pressure in the line and cuts pressure fluctuations that waste energy.

The spring-operated mechanism responds quickly to pressure change, and the brass body resists corrosion. It works on high-pressure and low-pressure systems and is commonly fitted on household pressure pump set-ups, storage systems, irrigation and distribution networks.

Where it works

Fit it on the suction or discharge of a household pressure pump, on borehole installations in Limpopo and the Northern Cape, at the outlet of tanks, and in irrigation and commercial water distribution. A check valve in the line stops the pipe draining back to the borehole after the pump switches off. Seal the threads with PTFE thread seal tape and add a single union ball valve beside it so you can isolate it for servicing. See pipe fittings for the full range.

Questions about this product

Which way round do I fit it?

With the flow arrow, or the open end of the spring side, pointing the way the water should travel. If it is fitted backwards the pump will not deliver, so check the body marking before tightening.

Can I use it on a borehole pump?

The supplier lists borehole installations as a typical use. It stops the column draining back when the pump stops. Check the size against your pump outlet.

Do you deliver to Upington?
