Overview

This tank level probe connects to the 3HR and 3HRI solar pump controllers and tells the controller when your storage tank is full. Install it in the tank and the controller switches the pump off when the level reaches the probe and back on when the level drops. The result is no overflowing tank, no wasted borehole water and less wear on the pump.

Without a probe, a solar pump simply runs whenever the sun shines, and the overflow goes onto the ground or into the drain. On a farm where the borehole yield is limited, that is both water and pumping hours thrown away. The probe is a small, inexpensive part that pays for itself quickly. It suits all 3HR and 3HRI solar borehole pump controllers. If a controller has failed, the replacement controller for the 3HR300 and 3HR500 or the controller for the 3HR750 and 3HR1200 will get you running again. Everything else is under solar pumps.

Where it works

Fit the probe wherever a solar pump fills an elevated storage tank: cattle and game water points in Limpopo and the Northern Cape, homestead tanks in KZN and the Eastern Cape, and lodge or school water systems on boreholes with limited yield. Place it at the level where you want the pump to stop, and route the cable back to the controller. Your installer can set the height to suit the tank.

Kamano delivers with its own trucks from Polokwane to all nine provinces in 1 to 3 days, including Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, East London, Kimberley and Tzaneen. Delivery is charged by total order weight: up to 30 kg R550, 30 to 60 kg R950, 60 to 100 kg R1,450, and over 100 kg on quotation. Orders of R20,000 or more (VAT incl.) ship free.
