Overview

The OGM-25 is a 1″ electronic diesel flowmeter with oval gears and a battery LCD register. It measures 12 to 120 litres per minute, which matches most 12V, 24V and 220V transfer pumps, and shows a resettable batch alongside a running total. For the price it is the meter we fit most often to farm tanks and bowsers when the owner wants to know where the diesel goes.

It forms part of our fuel dispensing equipment range. Pair it with the oil nozzle with digital meter or the digital metering nozzle with auto stop for a complete setup.

Where it works

Grain farmers in the Free State and cattle farmers in Limpopo bolt an electronic diesel flowmeter 1 inch onto their tank or bowser so every tractor fill is counted. Contractors fit it to site diesel trailers, and municipal depots use it to record fuel issued to graders and refuse trucks. It is also a common add-on for small private diesel stations.

Fitting tip: always put a strainer before an oval-gear meter, since the gears run on tight clearances and grit is the main cause of jams. Mount the electronic diesel flowmeter 1 inch so the display faces the operator, follow the flow arrow cast in the body, and run a known volume through it after installation. Change the register batteries before a busy season so the totals are never lost.

Oval-gear meters measure by displacement: every turn of the gears passes a fixed volume, so the reading holds steady whether the fluid is thin diesel or heavier oil, and the flow pattern in the pipe matters far less than it does with a turbine meter.

Questions about this product

Will it fit my 12V diesel pump?

Almost certainly. Most 12V and 24V transfer pumps deliver 40 to 70 litres per minute through 1" ports, which sits right in the 12-120 L/min range. Fit the meter on the pump outlet before the hose, use thread tape or a good sealant, and the LCD will start counting immediately.

Can I use it on petrol?

No. This aluminium electronic meter is meant for diesel, paraffin and light oils only. Petrol needs equipment rated for low flash-point fuel. If you have a petrol tank on the farm, ask us and we will recommend the right meter and pump combination.

How accurate is it?

The oval-gear design gives about ±0.5%, with repeatability of 0.03% or better. That is good enough for stock control and charging fuel out to each vehicle or department. For the best figures, run 20 litres into a calibrated measure once installed and set the calibration factor if needed.
