Description
Overview
The OGM-15M is a mechanical oil flowmeter: an oval-gear meter in a 1/2″ body with a geared register instead of a battery display. It measures oil and diesel at 1 to 30 litres per minute and keeps counting with no power at all. That makes it the low-fuss choice for dusty farm sheds and outside service points, where flat batteries are the most common reason a meter stops working.
It forms part of our fuel dispensing equipment range. Pair it with the OGM-15 electronic oil flowmeter or the digital flowmeter nozzle for a complete setup.
Key features
- Mechanical register, no batteries or wiring
- Oval-gear chamber that handles thick oils
- 1-30 L/min flow range
- 1/2″ (DN15) connections
- Aluminium base with a plastic register head
- Light enough to hang on a reel or drum pump outlet
Where it works
Farm workshops in Mpumalanga and the Free State fit the mechanical oil flowmeter to drum pumps for tractor engine and hydraulic oil. Plant hire yards and contractors use it at outside lube points where electronics take a beating. Small fleet depots like it as a dependable counter on a single oil reel, read off the dial at the end of each service.
Fitting tip: fit a strainer ahead of the meter, because grit wears the oval gears and drags the accuracy down over time. Follow the flow arrow on the body, seal the threads properly, and turn the register so it can be read from where the operator stands. Write the lifetime total on your fuel sheet each week and you have a simple record to check against deliveries.
Oval-gear meters measure by displacement: every turn of the gears passes a fixed volume, so the reading holds steady whether the fluid is thin diesel or heavier oil, and the flow pattern in the pipe matters far less than it does with a turbine meter.

Questions about this product
Does it need batteries?
No. The OGM-15M drives its register through gears, so there are no batteries to replace and nothing electronic to fail in dust or heat. That is the main reason farmers and contractors choose it over the electronic OGM-15. Wipe the window clean and it will keep counting for years with basic care.
How accurate is a mechanical meter?
Our supplier lists about ±1% for this mechanical model, which is fine for tracking oil use per machine and per service. If you need tighter figures for billing or stock reconciliation, the electronic OGM-15 is rated at ±0.5%. Either way, check it against a known measure once it is installed.
Can I use it on petrol?
No. It is meant for oils, diesel and paraffin only. Petrol needs equipment rated for low flash-point fuels. Tell us what fluid and tank you have and we will recommend a meter that suits it, so you are not left with a leak or a safety issue on site.
Do you deliver to Mokopane, and what does it cost?
Yes. Kamano trucks leave Polokwane for all nine provinces and most orders land within 1 to 3 days. This item ships at 0.55 kg, which puts it in the up to 30 kg band at R550. If your total order is R20,000 or more (VAT incl.), delivery is free, so it pays to add fittings or a second meter to the same order.
