Description

Overview

This pulse flow sensor turns flow between 0.2 and 10 litres per minute into an electrical pulse, 171 pulses for every litre, for a PLC, counter or dosing controller to read. It has no display of its own. It screws into a G1/2″ line, draws under 4 mA at 5-24V DC, and is small enough to tuck inside a panel. We use it where a controller must know the volume, not a person reading a screen.

It forms part of our flowmeters and fuel equipment range. Pair it with the OGM-15 electronic oil flowmeter or the FM-200 chemical flowmeter for a complete setup.

Key features

  • 171 pulses per litre for fine resolution at low flow
  • G1/2″ threaded connections
  • 5-24V DC supply, under 4 mA draw
  • PPS body and rotor with a stainless SUS304 shaft
  • NBR or FKM O-ring seals
  • Rated to 10 bar working pressure

Where it works

Irrigation contractors in the Western Cape vineyards build this pulse flow sensor into fertigation panels so the controller can dose nutrients by the litre. Water treatment plants run by municipalities use it on chlorine and coagulant lines. Engineering shops put it into automated fill stations and test rigs, and mines use it on reagent dosing where the PLC logs every litre.

Fitting tip: install the meter with a strainer upstream and a straight run of pipe either side, then route the signal cable away from pump motors and drive cables to avoid false counts. Use screened cable on long runs back to the panel, and check the pulse factor against a measured volume before the controller starts dosing by it.

Delivery and warranty

We deliver from our Polokwane yard with Kamano trucks to all nine provinces in 1 to 3 days. Boxed, this meter weighs 0.55 kg, so delivery is R550 on its own (up to 30 kg band), or free on orders of R20,000 and above. Ask us for the warranty terms on this model.

Questions about this product

Does it have a screen?

No. This is a sensor only. It sends 171 pulses per litre down its signal lead to whatever counts them: a PLC input, a pulse counter, a batch controller or a dosing pump with a pulse input. If you need a readout at the meter itself, choose one of our micro flowmeters with an LCD instead.

How do I set it up on my PLC?

Power it from 5 to 24V DC, connect the signal wire to a high-speed counter or pulse input, and set the scaling to 171 pulses per litre. Run a known volume, say 10 litres into a measuring jug, and adjust the factor if needed. That quick check accounts for your fluid and pipe layout.

Can it handle AdBlue or chemicals?

The body and rotor are PPS plastic with a stainless shaft, which resists many water-based dosing chemicals. Seal choice matters, so tell us the exact chemical and concentration before you order. For strong acids or solvents we will confirm compatibility first rather than let you find out on site.

Do you deliver to Witbank, and what does it cost?

Yes. Kamano trucks leave Polokwane for all nine provinces and most orders land within 1 to 3 days. This item ships at 0.55 kg, which puts it in the up to 30 kg band at R550. If your total order is R20,000 or more (VAT incl.), delivery is free, so it pays to add fittings or a second meter to the same order.
