Overview

The FM900 1.5″ is a mechanical diesel flow meter that counts litres on a roller register, with no electronics or batteries to fail. Fuel turns the measuring element and gears drive the number wheels, giving a batch counter you reset by hand and a cumulative total that keeps running.

The 1.5″ ports suit bowsers and tank outlets plumbed in larger hose, where a 1″ meter would be a bottleneck. Inside, it is the same body as the 1″ FM900, so spares and handling are the same.

Where it works

A mechanical diesel flow meter makes sense where batteries go flat and nobody notices: a trailer bowser parked on a Free State maize farm, a generator tank at a rural clinic, or a contractor’s site tank during a long road job. Questions about this product

Does the FM900 need batteries or a power supply?

No. The register is fully mechanical, so the fuel flow itself drives the counter wheels. That makes it a good fit for bowsers and tanks that stand in the field for weeks, or for sites where load-shedding and flat batteries are a constant headache. You only reset the batch counter by hand before each fill.

Should I choose the 1.5" or the 1" FM900?

Match the meter to your hose and pump outlet. If the pump and hose are 1.5", use this model so the meter does not choke the flow. If everything is 1", the 1" FM900 is the cheaper and neater fit. The body, accuracy and 20-120 L/min range are the same on both versions.

Do you deliver to Bethlehem in the Free State, and what does it cost?

Yes. Our own trucks run from Polokwane to all nine provinces, normally in 1 to 3 days, and Bethlehem in the Free State is on the route. The FM900 1.5" meter weighs about 3.3 kg packed, so on its own it falls in the up to 30 kg band (R550). Add enough to reach R20,000 including VAT and the whole order ships free.
