Description
Overview
The OGM-25 mechanical diesel flowmeter is a 1″ oval-gear meter with a geared roller register, so it counts without any batteries or electronics. It covers 12 to 120 litres per minute and shows a resettable batch and a lifetime total. On remote farms and construction sites where screens fade in the sun and batteries go flat, this is the meter that just keeps working.
It forms part of our fuel dispensing equipment range. Pair it with the OGM-25 electronic flowmeter or the oil nozzle with digital meter for a complete setup.

Where it works
Cattle and game farms in Limpopo and the Northern Cape choose a mechanical diesel flowmeter for tanks far from the homestead, where nobody wants to drive out to change a battery. Road contractors fit it to diesel trailers that bounce over gravel all day, and Mpumalanga coal contractors use it on site bowsers.
Fitting tip: fit a strainer ahead of the meter, because grit wears the oval gears and drags the accuracy down over time. Follow the flow arrow on the body, seal the threads properly, and turn the register so it can be read from where the operator stands. Write the lifetime total on your fuel sheet each week and you have a simple record to check against deliveries.
Oval-gear meters measure by displacement: every turn of the gears passes a fixed volume, so the reading holds steady whether the fluid is thin diesel or heavier oil, and the flow pattern in the pipe matters far less than it does with a turbine meter.

Delivery and warranty
Kamano delivers with its own trucks from Polokwane to all nine provinces, usually within 1 to 3 days. This unit ships at 2.5 kg, so on its own it sits in the R550 band for orders up to 30 kg. Orders of R20,000 or more travel free. Ask us for the warranty terms on this model.
Questions about this product
Why choose mechanical over electronic?
Mechanical meters need no batteries and have no circuit board, so heat, dust and vibration do not bother them. They suit remote tanks and trailers. The electronic OGM-25 is easier to read and calibrate, but if your meter sits in the sun on a farm in the Karoo, the mechanical one is often the better bet.
Can I reset the counter?
Yes. The batch counter resets with the knob on the register before each fill, while the lifetime total keeps running and cannot be reset. That total is what you use to reconcile against diesel deliveries at month end, so record it on your fuel sheet.
Is it suitable for petrol?
No. It is meant for diesel, paraffin and light oils. Petrol needs a meter and fittings rated for low flash-point fuels. Ask us before you put any petrol through a standard oval-gear meter, so we can recommend something that is safe for that job.
Do you deliver to Kimberley, and what does it cost?
Yes. Kamano trucks leave Polokwane for all nine provinces and most orders land within 1 to 3 days. This item ships at 2.5 kg, which puts it in the up to 30 kg band at R550. If your total order is R20,000 or more (VAT incl.), delivery is free, so it pays to add fittings or a second meter to the same order.
