Description

Overview

This 7.5 kW raw sewage pump is a cast iron submersible that moves up to 135 m³/h at heads up to 30 m. It suits sumps and pump stations where rags, fibre and soft solids would choke an ordinary drainage pump: with a 50 mm solids passage for busy pump stations and industrial effluent.

The star-shaped inlet grabs stringy solids and holds them against a cutter, which reduces them to a size the open single-channel impeller can pass into the volute. An adjustable bottom plate lets you reset the clearance to the impeller as it wears, which keeps efficiency up between services. The motor is a 7.5 kW (10 HP) two-pole unit on 380 V to 415 V three phase, drawing 15.7 A, with an 8 m cable and a double mechanical seal.

What power supply does the 7.5 kW raw sewage pump need?

It needs a 380 V to 415 V three-phase supply and draws 15.7 A at full load. Size the cable, breaker and starter for that current and have a qualified electrician fit a motor protection starter. It will not run from a normal 230 V single-phase socket.

Can it handle rags and solids in raw sewage?

Yes, within limits. The star-shaped inlet and cutter reduce stringy material before it reaches the impeller, and the open single-channel impeller then passes solids up to 50 mm. It is for sewage and sludge up to 40 °C. It is not meant for abrasive grit, chemicals or hot liquids.
