Description
Overview
This IBC honey sucker trailer mounts a reconditioned 1000 L IBC and a 6.5 HP petrol trash pump on a single-axle chassis with a 1.6 t braked axle, 1.6 t leaf springs, a jockey wheel and 14 inch commercial wheels. It empties septic tanks, conservancy tanks and site toilets at up to about 50,000 L/h.
It costs less than the horizontal-tank trailer and the IBC is easy to replace if it is ever damaged. For a lower-profile tank, see the 1000 L horizontal honey sucker trailer, braked. For more volume per trip, look at the 1500 L honey sucker trailer, braked.

Where it works
An IBC honey sucker trailer suits small municipalities in Limpopo and North West that contract out VIP toilet emptying, as well as plumbers in growing towns like Lephalale and Burgersfort who get septic tank call-outs every week. Construction firms tow it between sites to service portable toilets.

Questions about this product
How does it suck without a vacuum pump?
A 3 inch trash pump does the work. Once its casing is primed with water, the impeller creates enough suction to lift waste through the hose, and it is built to pass sludge and small solids that would choke an ordinary water pump. Reverse the hoses at the disposal point to empty the tank.
What do I need to tow it?
Full, the trailer weighs roughly 1,389 kg, since effluent is about a kilogram per litre. Check that your bakkie or tractor is rated to tow that with a braked trailer, and that your licence covers the combination. The axle and springs are rated at 1.6 t, which leaves margin over a full load. Register and license the trailer before it goes on a public road.
What will block the pump?
Rags, nappies, plastic and sanitary products are the usual culprits. The suction filter catches most of them, so check and clear it often. Thick, settled sludge pumps better if you stir it or add a little water first. Never pump fuel, solvents or chemicals through this unit.
How much is delivery to Lephalale?
Nothing. At R45,350.55 VAT incl. this unit is over our R20,000 free-delivery mark on its own, so we bring it to Lephalale at no charge. It ships at 389 kg on a Kamano truck from Polokwane and normally arrives in 1 to 3 days. Tell us about any tricky access road when you order.
