Overview

This honey sucker trailer is a double-axle braked rig that carries two 1000 L IBC tanks: one for effluent, filled by a diesel-driven 3 inch centrifugal trash pump, and one for clean water with its own diesel pump. You pump out a septic tank or pit, then flush the hoses and hose down the area from the same trailer.

The effluent side uses a trash pump, not a vacuum pump. The pump pulls waste through the suction hose and pushes it into the tank at roughly 50,000 L/h and 2.5 bar. If you need more effluent capacity, look at the 2500 L horizontal honey sucker trailer or the 2000 L horizontal honey sucker trailer.

Questions about this product

Is this a vacuum tanker?

No. The effluent side uses a 3 inch centrifugal trash pump, not a vacuum pump. It draws waste through the suction hose and pushes it into the tank at roughly 50,000 L/h. For pumping out septic tanks, conservancy tanks and pit latrines it does the same job, and a trash pump is simpler to maintain in the field.

What is the clean water tank for?

The second 1000 L tank carries clean water with its own diesel pump. Crews use it to flush the suction hose and pump after each job, rinse the work area, and wash down boots and tools. Keeping it on the same trailer saves a second trip and means you never leave a site dirty.

Do you deliver honey sucker trailers to the Eastern Cape?

Yes. Our own trucks run from Polokwane to all nine provinces, including the Eastern Cape, and most deliveries arrive in 1 to 3 days. This trailer ships at 662 kg and costs more than R20,000 including VAT, so delivery is free. We will phone ahead to agree an off-loading spot.

Can it pump diesel or oil spills?

No. This rig is set up for sewage, sludge and grey water on the effluent side and plain water on the clean side. Do not run fuel, solvents or oils through it. For fuel, use a dedicated diesel bowser with a pump and hoses built for hydrocarbons, which we also supply.
