Overview

This 60 litre vertical pressure tank gives a booster pump a proper buffer of pressurised water, so the pump rests between demands instead of chasing every tap. A carbon steel shell holds an EPDM bladder that keeps the water away from the air cushion, and the tank is rated to 8 bar with a 1″ (25 mm) connection. It is one of the vertical vessels in our pump controllers and VSD accessories.

Bladder-type tanks like this one release stored water on demand and prevent pump start-ups for demands smaller than their storage volume. The bladder stops water touching the air or the steel, which protects the shell from corrosion on the inside.

Where it works

Sixty litres suits a family home with two or three bathrooms, a farm homestead in Limpopo or the Free State, or a small irrigation line off a borehole booster. Mount it indoors or in a pump shed, out of direct sun, since the rating assumes an ambient temperature of 45 degrees C or lower. Installers often pair it with a pump protection controller from our range, such as the Y1 digital protection controller for 380 V pumps.
