The 50 mm waste bend at 87.5 degrees turns a 50 mm waste pipe through almost a right angle, so you can go from horizontal to near-vertical, or the other way, in a tight space. Questions about this product

Why is it 87.5 degrees and not 90?

The slightly less than 90 degree angle is a common waste fitting angle that gives the pipe a small fall after the turn. It is used for near-vertical changes in drainage runs and fits 50 mm waste pipe.

Is it better to use two 45 degree bends?

Two 45 degree bends make a longer, gentler turn that flows better and clogs less. Use the 87.5 degree bend where space is tight and you need to turn sharply, such as at a wall or floor drain.
