Description

Overview

The Unitwist Female Elbow 22 mm x 3/4 inch is an elbow with one compression port for 22 mm Unitwist pipe and one female threaded outlet of 3/4 inch. It is model code UT2022B, moulded from PPR plastic and sold here at R 24 (VAT incl.) each.

Unitwist is a PPR plastic plumbing system that combines push-fit and compression joints, so installers do not need special tools. The supplier states that the fittings are SABS approved, suitable for both hot and cold water, and designed for a 50 year life expectancy when used with Unitwist Monogold pipe. It is a sound choice for new builds, renovations and repairs in the pipe fittings range, and it pairs well with the Unitwist Female Coupler 15 mm x 1/2 inch and the Unitwist Male Coupler 22 mm x 3/4 inch.

Key features

Model code UT2022B, so you can match it against your plumber’s list
Compression port at one end and a 3/4 inch female thread at the other, on a 90 degree bend
Moulded from PPR plastic, corrosion resistant and low maintenance
Push-fit and compression joint: no special tools required
Suitable for hot and cold water lines
Made to work with Unitwist Monogold pipe and the rest of the Unitwist range

Where it works

Plumbers use this fitting for turning a pipe run into a tap, valve or geyser connection that has a male thread. It suits Northern Cape guest farms as well as Gauteng townhouse complexes, and the same joint works for maintenance crews on mines, schools and municipal buildings where a fast, tool-light repair keeps the water running.

Questions about this product

Can I use the Unitwist female elbow 22 mm x 3/4 inch on a hot water line?

Yes. The supplier lists the Unitwist system for both hot and cold water. Use it with Unitwist Monogold pipe, as the range is designed to work together. If the line feeds a geyser or solar system and you need exact temperature and pressure limits, ask us before you order and we will confirm for this model.

Do I need special tools to fit it?

No. The joint is push-fit and compression, and the supplier states that no special tools are needed. Cut the pipe square, push it into the port and complete the compression joint as the Unitwist instructions describe. Check that your pipe matches the 22 mm x 3/4 inch sizing of this fitting before you start.

Do you deliver to Durban and what does it cost?

Yes, we deliver to Durban with our own trucks from Polokwane in 1 to 3 days. This fitting weighs about 0.09 kg, so on its own the order falls in the up to 30 kg band at R550. Orders of R20,000 or more (VAT incl.) get free delivery, so it pays to add pipe and other fittings.

Is this fitting the same as model code UT2022B?

Yes. UT2022B is the Unitwist model code for the Female Elbow 22 mm x 3/4 inch. Quote it when you ask your plumber or us about the part, since several similar Unitwist fittings differ only in port size or thread. It is also useful when you check a delivery to Gqeberha or any other town.
