Where it works

A 500 L medium duty tank suits smallholdings, game lodges, workshops and building sites that need a modest, safe store of diesel or chemicals, from Limpopo bushveld lodges to KwaZulu-Natal workshops. It is the lighter-duty sibling of the 500 L heavy duty tank, and a smaller step than the 1000 L vertical tank. Browse all diesel storage tanks. Check you have enough height and diameter, secure the tank once full, and use it above ground only. Tank stands cost extra.

Questions about this product

Is this 500 L tank suitable for diesel?

Yes. It is made for diesel or chemical storage up to 1.4 SG. Do not use it for petrol. Fit it on a flat, supported base above ground and secure it once it is full. Tell us the product if you plan to store a chemical.

Does the tank come with fittings?

Yes. It has a 40 mm top inlet and a 40 mm base outlet, both red fittings, plus a 430 mm lid. Pumps, hoses and nozzles are not included, so ask us to quote a transfer pump and nozzle alongside it.

Do you deliver a 500 L tank to Richards Bay?

Yes. Kamano delivers from Polokwane to Richards Bay and the rest of the country in 1 to 3 days. The tank weighs 15 kg, so it falls in the R550 delivery band, and orders of R20,000 or more (VAT incl.) are delivered free.

Do I need a stand for this tank?

A stand is not required, but tank stands are available at extra cost if you want the outlet raised for gravity feed. Whatever it stands on must be flat, supported and strong enough for 500 L of liquid.
