Overview

The 4-inch 5 kW 220 V borehole motor is an oil-filled submersible motor that turns your pump end from inside the borehole. It is wound for 220 V three-phase and made to be driven by a single-phase-to-three-phase VSD or a solar pump inverter. That gives you soft starting and speed control from a normal household supply or from solar panels. Do not connect it directly to a 220 V single-phase plug: it must always run from a VSD or inverter.
