20 Inch Slim Carbon Block Water Filter Cartridge, FCC-20STD

Description

Overview

This is a 20 inch slim activated carbon block cartridge, model FCC-20STD, made to replace the carbon stage in compatible 20 inch slim filter housings. Water passes through the carbon block, which helps reduce chlorine and the substances that cause unwanted taste and smell, so the water tastes and smells cleaner. It is also the right spare for the 3 stage system listed as 20 inch slim 3-stage water filtration system. Browse the rest of our water filters.

Key features

• 20 inch slim size, for compatible 20 inch slim housings
• Activated carbon block filter media
• Helps reduce chlorine, unwanted taste and odour
• Works well as a carbon stage in multi-stage systems
• Easy to install and replace
• Suited to home and light commercial use

Where it works

Activated carbon has many tiny pores, which gives it a large surface to trap chlorine and taste-and-odour compounds as water passes through. Fit it after a sediment filter so the carbon block does not clog early; the sediment stage removes dirt first and the carbon stage does its job on clean water. Typical uses are municipal water in Gauteng or the Western Cape, rainwater tank supplies in KZN, home filtration and offices. A fresh cartridge matters most in a multi-stage rainwater setup; see also our 10 inch 5 micron polypropylene sediment cartridge for Big Blue housings.

How often to change it depends on your water quality and how much you use. Replace the cartridge when flow drops or when the taste and smell come back, and check it during normal system maintenance.
