Big Blue 10 Inch Single Filter Housing, 1 Inch Ports

Description

Overview

This is a Big Blue 10 inch single filter housing in blue plastic with 1 inch inlet and outlet ports, model code 10047. It gives you one filtration stage: add a cartridge to remove sand, rust, mud or chlorine and improve the taste, colour and odour of your water. It is supplied as the housing only, with no cartridge, bracket or other accessories. Start with a 5 micron polypropylene sediment cartridge and mount it with the 10 inch housing bracket. More options are in our water filters range.

Where it works

A single housing is the simplest way to protect a house, a cottage or a pump line from dirty water. Fit it on a borehole feed in Limpopo, behind the tank pump of a rainwater system in KZN, or on the municipal inlet of a house in Gauteng. Choose the cartridge for the problem: polypropylene for sand and silt, activated carbon for chlorine, taste and smell. Fit a bypass and isolation valves either side so you can change cartridges without shutting down the whole house.

The housing holds standard 10 inch Big Blue cartridges. It is not designed for the slim 20 inch size, so check that before ordering. Hand-tighten the bowl, check the seal and open the water slowly to avoid trapped air.
