This septic tank rubber seal closes the gap around a 110 mm waste pipe where it passes through the wall of a septic tank or soakaway. One seal goes on each pipe entry, so the joint stays tight after the tank is backfilled.

It is a small part, but a leaking pipe entry lets groundwater into the tank or sewage into the soil, and both are hard to fix once the hole is filled in. Fit one at every inlet and outlet, and order a few extra if you are plumbing several tanks or a soakaway system. Pair it with the septic tank fittings you need for the rest of the run.

Where it works

Use it on any 110 mm pipe entry: the inlet and outlet of a plastic septic tank, a soakaway chamber on a farm in Limpopo, or a conservancy tank on a Gauteng building site. It also suits repairs where an old seal has perished and the pipe entry needs resealing.

Check the pipe and the hole before you backfill, make sure the seal sits evenly around the pipe, and keep the pipe clean and free of grit. Buy the seal together with the tank, such as the 600 L septic tank, or with the 110 mm PVC waste pipe, so the whole job arrives in one delivery.
