Description

Overview

The 1000 L septic tank is a compact underground tank for containing and processing sewage from a small home, cottage or outbuilding. At 1240 mm in diameter and 1100 mm high, with 110 mm inlet and outlet, it is light enough at about 35 kg for two people to position.

It is made from LLDPE, a linear low-density polyethylene and has extra thickness for underground pressure. The body keeps roots and rodents out, and a child-safety lid with a 450 mm opening closes it. Pair it with a 600 mm manhole when several drains meet. See our other septic tanks for larger sizes.

Where it works

Small farm cottages in Limpopo, holiday units, worker housing and outbuildings that have no municipal sewer. Because it handles human sewage waste only, keep other waste out. Test the ground for groundwater and clay soils before digging, since both change how the tank is installed. Do not place it where vehicles can drive over it, and have a qualified builder or plumber install it. Starter tablets and French drains are not included, so ask us. Treat it with 5 L septic tank liquid.

Delivery and warranty

Kamano delivers with its own trucks from Polokwane to all nine provinces in 1 to 3 days, including Polokwane, Tzaneen, Mbombela, Pretoria, Johannesburg and Rustenburg. At about 35 kg shipped, it falls in the 30 to 60 kg delivery band (R950). Delivery is free on orders of R20,000 or more (VAT incl.). Tank warranty: 1 to 2 years, depending on the model.
