Overview

The 600 mm manhole extension is a one-piece underground chamber, 1030 mm high and 1060 mm across, supplied complete with its child-safety lid. It sits ahead of your septic tank: the 110 mm underground drain lines all run into it, and a single pipe then carries the flow on to the tank. You get one accessible junction instead of several buried joints.

It is made from high-grade LLDPE plastic with extra wall thickness, so it copes with underground pressure and stops roots and rodents from getting in. It is intended for use with a tank from our septic tank range, and it suits homesteads, lodges and small commercial sites alike.

Where it works

On farms in Limpopo and Mpumalanga, rural homesteads, guest lodges and schools, anywhere several drains meet before a septic tank. Test the ground for groundwater and clay first, because both change how the chamber must be bedded. Never place it where vehicles can drive over it. No. It is not meant for places where vehicles drive. Position it in a garden, paddock or other area closed to traffic, and have the ground tested for groundwater and clay before you dig, because both change how the chamber must be bedded. A qualified builder or plumber should install it.
