Overview

The 800 mm manhole extension is the taller of our two underground septic chambers: 1270 mm high and 1060 mm across, supplied as one complete unit with a child-safety lid. All the 110 mm underground pipes lead into it, and one pipe then runs from the chamber to the septic tank, so the layout stays simple to inspect and clear.

The body is made from high-grade LLDPE plastic with extra thickness, built to resist underground pressure and to keep roots and rodents out. Choose it where your drains arrive deep, and pair it with a tank from our septic tank range.

Where it works

Suited to sloping farm sites in Limpopo, lodges in the Waterberg, schools and rural developments where the incoming pipes sit deep. Have the ground tested for groundwater and clay soils before digging, as these affect the installation. Keep it clear of vehicle traffic. A qualified builder or plumber should install it. A shallower option is the 600 mm manhole, and the 450 mm complete manhole lid is the matching spare for tank openings.

What is the difference between the 600 mm and 800 mm manholes?

Both are 1060 mm across and both come with a child-safety lid. The 800 mm unit is 1270 mm high, while the 600 mm unit is 1030 mm high. Pick the taller one when your incoming drains are deep. Either way, every 110 mm line enters the chamber and one pipe leaves for the tank.

Does the MH800 need a builder to install it?

We recommend a qualified builder or plumber does it. The ground should be tested for groundwater and clay soils first, since both change how the chamber is bedded in. It must not be placed where vehicles can drive over it, and it only goes underground.
