Description

Overview

This 1000 L septic tank combo is a complete small sewage set: the tank, a 300 L inspection chamber between tank and soak away, a 600 L soak away chamber, a length of drilled pipe and a starter tablet. It is sized for one to four people, which suits a cottage, a farm worker house or a small guest unit. Installation is not included, so budget for a builder or plumber and an excavator.

The tank is rotationally moulded from linear low-density polyethylene, UV resistant, and made for underground use. Roots and rodents cannot get through the wall. For bigger households step up to the 1750 L combo or see the septic tank range.

Key features

1210 mm diameter, 1100 mm high tank with 450 mm lid
110 mm inlet and 110 mm outlet

Inspection chamber for checking tank health and blockages
Soak away takes grey water from basins, showers, baths and washing machines
Includes 1 starter tablet; repeat every 6 to 8 months
Available in green or tan

Where it works

Typical jobs are rural homes in Limpopo and Mpumalanga, farm cottages in the Free State, holiday units in KwaZulu-Natal and staff housing on smallholdings, wherever there is no municipal sewer. Test the ground for groundwater or clay before digging, and keep the tank away from driveways, since it must not be driven over. Installation guidelines are supplied with the tank.

Questions about this product

How many people can a 1000 L septic tank serve?

This 1000 L tank is specified for one to four people. If you expect more occupants, guests or a bigger washing load, step up to a larger tank. An undersized tank fills with solids faster and needs more frequent pumping.

Is installation included?

No. The set is supplied without installation, so you need a builder or plumber and usually an excavator or TLB. An installation guide comes with the tank, and the ground should be checked for groundwater or clay before you dig.

Can I drive a bakkie over the tank?

No. Do not place the tank, chambers or pipe runs where vehicles drive over them. Plan the position away from driveways and parking areas, or have a builder add suitable protection around the lids.

Do you deliver septic tanks to Gqeberha or Cape Town?

Yes, Kamano delivers to all nine provinces in 1 to 3 days. This set ships at about 82 kg, which falls in the 60 to 100 kg band at R1,450. Placement on the property is your responsibility, so have the hole ready.
