Description
Overview
This honey sucker for sale is a reconditioned 1000 L IBC with a 6.5 HP petrol engine and a 3 inch trash pump on the cage. It lifts sewage and sludge from septic tanks, conservancy tanks and pit toilets at up to about 50,000 L/h, and empties through a layflat hose wherever disposal is allowed.
It is the cheapest complete 1000 L unit we sell and a sensible first rig for a new pumping business. If a 1000 L tank is too heavy for your bakkie, the 650 L honey sucker skid unit and the 500 L honey sucker skid unit carry smaller loads.
Key features
- 6.5 HP petrol engine
- 3 inch centrifugal trash pump moving about 50,000 L/h at around 2.5 bar
- Reconditioned 1000 L IBC with steel cage and pallet base
- 6 m × 63 mm suction hose with filter, 10 m × 63 mm layflat outlet
- Aluminium quick couplers, no tools needed to change hoses
Where it works
Small contractors in Polokwane, Mokopane and the villages of Sekhukhune buy this honey sucker for sale to empty pit toilets and household septic tanks. Holiday homes on the KZN South Coast and farmhouses in the Free State rely on conservancy tanks that need emptying every few weeks, which is steady work for one bakkie and one operator.

Questions about this product
How does it suck without a vacuum pump?
A 3 inch trash pump does the work. Once its casing is primed with water, the impeller creates enough suction to lift waste through the hose, and it is built to pass sludge and small solids that would choke an ordinary water pump. Reverse the hoses at the disposal point to empty the tank.
Can my bakkie carry it full?
Work on about a kilogram per litre of effluent. Full, this unit weighs roughly 1,119 kg. Compare that with the payload on your licence disc, remembering the driver and tools count too. Many operators pump a part load, drive to the disposal point, and come back, rather than overloading the springs.
Can I start a septic tank pumping business with this?
Many small operators do. Before you take paying jobs, register with your local municipality, confirm where you may discharge and what it costs, and keep protective gear and disinfectant on the vehicle. Price per load, and remember travel to the disposal site often takes longer than the pumping.
How much is delivery to Mokopane?
This unit ships at 119 kg, which is above our 100 kg band, so we quote delivery to Mokopane once we have your address. Our own trucks run from Polokwane and normally arrive in 1 to 3 days. Push the order to R20,000 or more including VAT and delivery is free.
