Overview

This 1000 L combo adds water treatment to a compact pumped tank: a slimline LLDPE tank, a 0.75 kW CPM158 pump with controller, a 55 W submersible UV-C light and a triple 20-inch filter set in one package. It is made for home or office use on a municipal feed.

The filters remove sand, rust and mud and soften the chlorine taste, while the UV light works inside the tank where it has time to deactivate bacteria and viruses. The 0.75 kW pump delivers 120 L/min at up to 32 m of head. Without treatment, the 1000 L combo with 0.75 kW pump costs less. More packages sit under tank and pump combo kits.

Everything else in the package is identical, and the price is the same for each colour: R 10,748 (VAT incl.) for green, R 10,748 for grey and R 10,748 for tan. Colour is the only difference between the three; treatment and pump are the same.

Will the filters remove chlorine from municipal water?

The filter set is listed as removing sand, rust, mud and chlorine, and it improves taste, colour and odour. It is a three-stage 20-inch system on a wall frame. Replace cartridges when flow drops or the taste returns. How long they last depends on how much sediment is in your supply.

How does the in-tank UV light work?

The UV-C unit sits inside the tank, so water stays in contact with the light longer than with a single-pass unit. It helps deactivate bacteria and viruses. It works best on filtered water and when the tank is not drawn down faster than the UV can treat it.
