Overview

This combo stores 5000 litres, filters the water, treats it with UV light and delivers it at high pressure. The pump is a 1.1 kW (1.5 HP) booster with controller that reaches 44 m of head at up to 120 L/min. The tank is a vertical LLDPE unit 1800 mm across and 2150 mm high, with a 55 W submersible UV-C light and a triple 20-inch filter frame supplied alongside. It is the strongest of our 5000l tank with 1.1kw pump and UV light sets, aimed at homes and lodges that need both clean water and real pressure.

The tank comes in Green, Grey or Tan. The pump, UV light and filters are the same in each colour, and each costs R 15,056 (VAT incl.).

Where it works

Think double-storey houses in Gauteng, lodges in Mpumalanga and clinics or schools in Limpopo that need drinking water at pressure. Rainwater from a large roof fills it, and the filters and UV light clean it for the taps. UV does best behind fine filtration, and heavy daily use may need extra UV capacity. Questions about this product

How much pressure does the 1.1 kW pump give?

It reaches 44 m of maximum head, about 4.4 bar at the pump, with up to 120 L/min. That lifts water to a double-storey roofline and still leaves pressure at the taps. Pressure at the tap falls with pipe length and fittings, so use full-bore pipe. Check your supply and cable, as the motor draws more current than smaller pumps.

Is the UV light enough on its own for drinking water?

No, use it with the filters. UV-C works best once particles are filtered out, ideally to 0.2 micron, because dirt shields bacteria from the light. This kit supplies both. If you draw most of the tank each day, the water has less contact time and you may need extra UV capacity.
