Overview

This Unitwist male elbow, 15mm x 3/4 inch (code UT2021R), takes a 15mm pipe run through a bend and ends in a 3/4 inch male thread. That makes it the right choice when a 15mm line has to connect to a 3/4 inch female port, such as a tank outlet, a garden tap body or a valve, without adding a bush or reducer. The pipe end uses the Unitwist push-fit and compression joint, so installation is quick and clean. You can order it from our pipe fittings range with delivery from Polokwane.

Like the rest of the range, the fitting is made from PPR plastic and sold as part of a SABS approved system for hot and cold water. It is meant to be paired with Unitwist Monogold pipe.

Where it works

Use it where a thin 15mm feeder has to meet a 3/4 inch port: borehole header tanks in Limpopo, stock water troughs, rainwater tank take-offs and domestic taps in Gauteng and KZN. If your outlet is 1/2 inch, take the 15mm x 1/2 inch male elbow instead. For a straight join you can pair it with a 15mm straight coupler further down the run. Check the thread of the part you are connecting to before you order.

What is the difference between this and the 15mm x 1/2 inch elbow?

Both take 15mm pipe. This one ends in a 3/4 inch male thread, the other in a 1/2 inch male thread. Pick the one that matches the female thread on your tap, valve or tank outlet. The pipe side is identical on both.

Do I need tools to fit it?

No special tools are needed for the pipe side, because the joint is push-fit and compression. For the male thread side, use thread tape and a spanner or wrench on the part you are screwing into, and do not overtighten the plastic.
