Description

Overview

A PVC end cap seals the open end of a pressure pipe. Cemented on with PVC solvent cement, it stops the line for good, which suits a dead-end header, a future extension or a pipe that is being retired.

It is a simple, cheap part, and it is available in 20 mm, 32 mm, 40 mm and 50 mm. Other joining fittings are in our pipe fittings range.

Where it works

Caps finish off irrigation headers in Free State grain fields and Western Cape orchards, where the last lateral needs a clean stop. They also close pipework on pool plant rooms, plumbing tests and future connection points on building sites. Plumbers like them for pressure testing a run before the final fitting goes on. Join the run with the PVC solvent socket and cement it with the PVC solvent cement.

Questions about this product

Can I take an end cap off again later?

Not cleanly. Once solvent cement has set, the joint is permanent, and you would have to cut the pipe behind the cap. If you want to open the line again later, for a future extension or a test point, plan for a coupling or union behind the cap.

Which sizes do you have?

20, 32, 40 and 50 mm. There is no 25 mm cap in this range. If your pipe is 25 mm, ask us about alternatives before ordering and we will check what we can supply for your line. All four sizes are solvent weld and fit PVC pressure pipe.

Do you deliver to Durban and how much is delivery?

Yes. We deliver to Durban and the rest of the country from Polokwane in 1 to 3 days. Fees are by total order weight: up to 30 kg is R550, 30 to 60 kg is R950, 60 to 100 kg is R1,450 and over 100 kg is on quotation.
