Overview

A PVC solvent socket joins two sections of PVC pressure pipe into one continuous line. It is the basic fitting for extending a run or repairing a cut pipe, and it is used in plumbing, irrigation, pool, pond and reticulation systems.

Designed for PVC solvent cement, it makes a permanent bond and a leak-free joint. The bore is smooth, so water flows with little pressure loss. It sits in our pipe fittings range beside elbows, tees and unions.

Where it works

A burst or an extension on a PVC line is a daily job on irrigation farms, municipal reticulation and pool installations. Mpumalanga and Free State growers use sockets to repair mains after tractor damage, plumbers use them to add a spur to a supply line, and pond builders use them on filter pipework. Seal the joint with the PVC solvent cement and finish the line with the PVC end cap.
