Submersible Aquaponics Water Pump, 1100 L/h, 1.2 m Head, 230V

Description

Overview

This submersible pump moves up to 1100 litres an hour to a maximum height of 1.2 m, which makes it a good circulation pump for a small aquaponics system. It sits in the tank, runs on 230V mains and uses an oil-free motor, so there is no risk of oil in the water.

Use it to feed a grow bed from the fish tank, run a filter or drive a fountain. It also works as a spare for the basic aquaponics DIY kit or the executive aquaponics DIY kit, where a failed pump stops water moving through the system. See more aquaponics kits on our site.

Where it works

Aquaponics growers use this size to lift water from the fish tank into a grow bed on a timer or siphon cycle. Garden-pond owners and fountain builders use it for the same reason: steady water movement with little noise. Schools in Gauteng and small-plot growers in Limpopo and KZN keep one as a spare, because losing circulation for a day can stress fish and plants.

Keep the intake clear of fish waste and debris, and never run it dry. Place it low in the tank and keep head height under a metre for best flow.
