Description

Overview

The OGM-50 electronic flowmeter is a 2″ oval-gear meter with an LCD register, built for diesel, biodiesel, kerosene and paraffin at high flow. It handles 30 to 300 L/min, which makes it the meter for tanker offloading, large bowsers and bulk transfer pumps that would overrun a 1.5″ unit.

The oval gears measure by positive displacement to ±0.5%, with repeatability of 0.03% or better. The LCD shows a resettable batch total for each fill and a cumulative total for stock reconciliation. Calibrate on site if you need trade-grade figures. This version has the digital readout, so choose the mechanical OGM-50 if you would rather have no electronics.

Where it works

At 300 L/min this meter suits mine fuel bays in Limpopo and Mpumalanga coal country, tanker offloading at depots in Gauteng and KZN, and big farm tanks in the Free State where several tractors fill at once. Contractors on road and earthworks jobs use it on large diesel bowsers. Diesel and light oils only, not petrol.

Questions about this product

What is the difference between the OGM-40 and OGM-50?

The OGM-40 has 1.5" ports and a 25 to 250 L/min range. The OGM-50 has 2" ports and a 30 to 300 L/min range. Pick the OGM-50 when your pump or hose is 2" and you want the extra throughput.

Does the LCD keep the cumulative total when I reset the batch?

Yes. The batch total resets for each fill, while the cumulative total keeps running for stock control. Note both figures at month end so your stock sheet agrees with the tank dips.

Can I use it for petrol?

No. This is a standard meter for diesel, biodiesel, kerosene, paraffin and light non-corrosive oils. For petrol you need an explosion-proof unit, so contact us and we will advise.
