Overview

This gravity drop coupler has a 4 inch coupler end and a 4 inch BSP thread, and it lets a road tanker discharge into a storage tank under gravity. It is the larger-thread version of the 4 inch x 3 inch model, so the one thing to check before you order is the thread on your tank inlet or adaptor. The body is aluminium, and at 1.6 kg it can be fitted and removed by one person at the tank without lifting gear. A coupler that matches first time keeps the tanker moving and keeps the driver off the phone.

Where it works

You will find these fittings at fuel depots in Gauteng and KZN, on farm bulk tanks across Limpopo and the Free State, and at mine fuel bays in Mpumalanga. Wherever a tanker drops product by gravity into a fixed tank, the coupler is the part that gets used on every delivery and wears first.
