Overview

This gravity drop coupler joins a road tanker outlet to a tank inlet so fuel can be offloaded by gravity. It is a 4 inch coupler with a 3 inch BSP thread, in aluminium, and it is the female half of the connection. Pick it by the thread size on your tank or hose adaptor: this one is for 3 inch BSP, and the near-identical 4 inch BSP version is listed separately. Matching the thread first saves a return trip when the driver arrives on site and the fitting does not screw home.

Where it works

Tanker operators and depots use gravity drop couplers wherever fuel is offloaded straight into a storage tank: fuel depots in Gauteng and KZN, mine fuel bays in Mpumalanga coal country, and farm bulk tanks in the Free State and Limpopo.
