Overview

A sight glass is a clear window fitted in a fuel line so you can see what is moving through it. This one is a 4 inch inline sight glass, 40 mm thick, for tanker and fuel line use. The driver or operator can confirm that product is flowing, spot air in the line, and see when a hose has run dry, all without opening anything. It costs far less than a missed fault during a delivery, because a stopped flow looks identical to a full tank until someone checks. The weights shown are conservative, so confirm freight on larger orders.

Where it works

Tanker operators use sight glasses at the discharge point so the driver can watch a drop on farms in Limpopo and the Free State, at mine fuel bays in Mpumalanga, and at depots in Gauteng and KZN. They are useful whenever you pump or gravity-feed and need to know if the line is full. If you want the window built into the coupler, see the 4 inch x 3 inch male coupler with sight glass. No. This is a separate 4 inch inline sight glass, 40 mm thick, that you add to a line. The sight glass coupler is a male gravity drop coupler with the window built in. Choose the coupler if you want one fitting, or this part if you want to add a window.
